Guided Painting with Kate Langlais

Artist Kate Langlais is back with more guided painting classes! The classes will take place Fridays from 10:00am – 11:30am beginning February 7th.

This class is fun! If you feel you are not talented enough to paint, this is a guided painting class. Kate will give direction on how to complete techniques step by step that you can choose to use or you can implement your own techniques and ideas. Space is limited. Great Courses

Great Courses is a series of College level courses covering a wide variety of topics such as art, history, science and current events. Presented in video and then discussion format. Former Shattuck Teacher, Bob Irby, facilitates the presentations and discussion.

This 6 week course you will learn about Understanding Russia: A cultural History. This course will look at Russia’s fascinating cultural history with an award-winning historian and Russian Specialist.

Sit & Stitch

Date(s): Friday, October 18th
Time: 9pm – 2pm

If you enjoy crocheting, knitting, embroidery, sewing or quilting and spending time with others, join us for the Sit & Stitch the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month from 9am to 2pm. Bring your project/supplies and spend the day or a couple of hours.

Lunch available at 11:30 with a reservation made at least one business day in advance.

Family Caregiver Support Group

Are you helping an elder with daily living activities? Then you are a caregiver. Join us on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Buckham West ~ 19 Division St. W. in Faribault for conversation with other caregivers. Open to all; no charge. No registration needed.

In order to meet with a SMRLS staff member you must be a low-income senior or person with disability and live in the SMRLS service area. Please note that only civil legal matters will qualify, not criminal.

Mah jongg

Date(s): Every Monday

Mah jongg – is a game of strategy that originated in China. It uses small rectangular tiles stamped with symbols and characters. The object of the game is to be the first to assemble combinations of these tiles into specific patterns that make up a hand. These combinations are assembled by picking and discarding tiles. Once you learn the fundamentals of the game, you will understand why people love it.
